EBSCO has reached an important milestone in its endeavor to provide access to the most comprehensive selection of leading scholarly, full text electronic journals. More than 2 million articles are now viewable via EBSCO's electronic journals service. On May 10, an article titled "Implementation of the Generalized WZ Factorization on a Wavefront Array Processor," from the International Journal of Computer Mathematics published by Taylor and Francis, and hosted by MetaPress, was the 2 millionth journal article added to EBSCO's electronic journals service. This article was authored by O. B. Efremides, M. P. Bekakos and D. J. Evans. "This milestone is a reminder that EBSCO is committed to providing quality online full text to our valued customers," said John Fitts, vice president and general manager of EBSCO's Information Systems and Services department. "EBSCO continues to develop and enhance our services to help library staff better manage the full range of information that they access through EBSCO and to bring the best search results to library patrons." A complete list of journals available through EBSCO’s electronic journals gateway can be accessed at www.ebsco.com/online/OnlineTitles.asp. A new version of the electronic journals service will be available by July 2002. Features will include improved integration with library systems and databases, minimal clicks to access full text, additional linking technologies, new personalization features and more. EBSCO provides multiple options for accessing electronic journal subscriptions. Researchers can use one interface to search across full text from multiple publishers, or link to e-journals from a library catalog or Web page via durable URLs. Full text in e-journals available through EBSCO's service is also accessible via links from many databases, including those offered through the EBSCOhost® interface. An alerting service, pay-per-view article purchasing, and advanced usage reports make EBSCO's electronic journals service an effective e-journal access and management platform for any library or organization. EBSCO Subscription Services, EBSCO Publishing and EBSCO Book Services form the EBSCO Information Services group. EBSCO provides integrated information resources and management solutions worldwide through print and electronic journal subscription services, reference database development and production, online multi-database access and e-commerce book procurement. EBSCO upholds relationships with 60,000 publishers and maintains a database of more than 282,000 serial titles. For more information, visit www.ebsco.com. Released: May 14, 2002 |
