EBSCO has chosen to use Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 to build a flexible Business to Business (B2B) infrastructure to further advance the automation of its subscription services order processing and to enable the addition of new electronic business relationships more easily. EBSCO expects to find increased flexibility for integrating new business solutions with existing services by using BizTalk Server. "We have plans to add our books catalog to our e-commerce marketplace," said Terry Webster, Web development manager for EBSCO. "BizTalk Server enables us to securely and reliably integrate our systems with our business partners - regardless of their choice of application, platform or transport." Using XML, SOAP and other core Internet transports and protocols, BizTalk Server unites enterprise application integration, B2B and business process management technology in a single product to allow companies to easily orchestrate Web services and rapidly build dynamic business processes that span applications, platforms and businesses. "EBSCO's implementation of BizTalk Server is a great example of how easy it is to connect to trading partners using the product," said Dave Wascha, lead product manager for BizTalk Server at Microsoft Corp. "EBSCO has seen many significant benefits from moving to BizTalk Server, just one of which is being able to more easily create new e-business relationships." Released: May 22, 2002 |
