EBSCOhost® customers wanting to provide users with direct links to document delivery services can now include a link to The British Library's ArticlesDirect service on their search results. ArticlesDirect service is intended for individuals and organizations with only an occasional need for documents, who prefer the simplicity of ordering articles without registration. ArticlesDirect will soon be followed by the release of ARTWeb, The British Library's document order form for registered customers. The links to The British Library ArticlesDirect and ARTWeb are in addition to the links that EBSCOhost offers to Infotrieve, CISTI, and FIZ-AutoDoc, providing a variety of document delivery services. Thus, EBSCOhost customers now can choose their preferred service. The links to document delivery services are made available via EBSCOadminTM, so each library can decide on its own if this is an appropriate service to offer to its end users. Once activated, this functionality works similarly to other EBSCO ILS links. Libraries can choose to display links to The British Library on every applicable search result or only when full text is not available. In other words, at the library's discretion, the system could look for full text in EBSCOhost databases, e-journal collections and other local holdings prior to alerting a user to the fact that an article can be purchased via any of the affiliated document delivery services. As always, the EBSCO Publishing Technical Support team can assist customers in establishing links to these services.
