Spanish-speaking medical researchers have a new online resource with MedicLatina, a unique database of medical research and investigative journals from renowned Latin American and Spanish publishers. Available via EBSCOhost®, the collection includes the complete full text with PDFs for more than 50 peer-reviewed medical journals in native Spanish.
The publications cover topics such as neuroscience, cardiology, nephrology, biomedicine, clinical research and pediatrics. Titles include Revista Cubana de Cardiología y Cirugía Cardiovascular, Revistad de la Facultad de Medicina de la Unam, Revista Médica del Imss, Revista Mexicana de Patología Clinica, and ACIMED among others, along with the essential Archives of Medical Research in English. Additionally, an optional Spanish interface and translation software, which are made available free of charge to all EBSCOhost customers, further enhance the functionality of the database.
MedicLatina provides even greater depth to EBSCO's growing number of database products for the global medical community. EBSCOhost databases contain full text chosen specifically to augment the most important bibliographic databases in the medical field, including MEDLINE® and CINAHL®. When these bibliographic databases are searched through EBSCOhost, users can easily link from citations in the result list to the corresponding full text in the other EBSCO databases.
In addition to MedicLatina, biomedical databases available from EBSCO include: Biomedical Reference Collections with as many as 500 titles cited in MEDLINE; Nursing & Allied Health Collections with up to 300 titles cited in CINAHL; the Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection with nearly 500 titles cited in PsycInfo® and e-psyche®; Health BusinessTM FullTEXT; Health Source®: Consumer Edition; and Alt-HealthWatchTM.
