About EBSCO Contact Us Site Map News Releases

EBSCO Publishing has now added the ability to link from search results within the EBSCOhost® interface directly to OCLC ILLiad Resource Sharing Management software (OCLC ILLiad) to further enhance the linking options available to libraries.

When searching an EBSCOhost database, the interface can automatically search the full text not only within the database, but also within a library's e-journal subscriptions (through EBSCO's Electronic Journals Service or CrossRef) and its online catalog. If full text cannot be located in these resources, the result list can then indicate links, called EBSCO CustomLinks™, from the relevant citation directly to several document delivery and interlibrary loan (ILL) systems, including OCLC ILLiad.

Once turned on, the functionality is seamless and allows users to submit automatic requests to their local ILL department. To provide complete flexibility, any of the EBSCO CustomLinks can be turned on or off at the discretion of the subscribing library, and upon request, with the assistance of EBSCO Publishing's Tech Support department.

Other interlibrary loan and document delivery links available through EBSCOhost include: Servicio de Obtención (S.O.D.) from Kronosdoc, Infotrieve, CISTI, FIZ-AutoDoc and British Library's ArticlesDirect and ARTWeb. EBSCO is working to provide additional links to Fretwell-Downing services and other commercial ILL systems.

About OCLC ILLiad, www.oclc.org/illiad
OCLC ILLiad automates routine interlibrary loan functions. The library saves time by managing all of its borrowing, lending and document delivery through a single, Windows-based interface. Users send and track their requests electronically through the Web. OCLC ILLiad automatically processes filled requests and contacts users when requests are completed.
