The latest collection soon to be added to EBSCO's growing list of important databases is INSPEC. Produced by IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers), INSPEC is the leading English-language bibliographic information service providing access to the world's scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology.

When accessed via EBSCOhost®, INSPEC offers technical researchers a vast collection of valuable information including international journals and other periodicals, conference proceedings, reports, dissertations and books as well as the ability to link to other sources directly from citations in the database. Upon searching INSPEC, EBSCO's linking allows appropriately subscribing institutions to access information in other EBSCOhost databases, e-journals, an array of other resources via linking servers such as SFXÔ and LinkFinderPlus, document delivery services, OPACs, etc.

Bethany Close, Product Manager of Licensed Databases for EBSCO Publishing, said, "We have a targeted list of valuable databases that we would like to make available via EBSCOhost - based primarily on customer recommendations. We are excited about the progress that we have made in licensing these resources. With its popularity as well as a noted strong demand by our customers, INSPEC will certainly be a valuable addition to our product offerings."

"With INSPEC now available through EBSCOhost, users gain access to the database and relevant full text through a comprehensive search service," said Jim Ashling, Director, Sales and Marketing, IEE Publishing. "I am sure users of INSPEC via EBSCOhost, which specializes in resource integration through linking services, will welcome the extensive search and retrieval capabilities available to them."
