About EBSCO Contact Us Site Map News Releases

Researchers and practitioners in the field of information science now have access through the EBSCOhost® search interface to Information Science Abstracts (ISA), published by Information Today, Inc.

The database provides worldwide coverage of library science and information science records from more than 450 publications dating back to 1966. Topics include abstracting and indexing, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management, Internet search engines, printed and electronic information sources, the information industry, electronic publishing and more. The data is updated nine times a year.

With its inclusion in the growing collection of EBSCO secondary databases, ISA database users can take advantage of EBSCO SmartLinks™ and CustomLinks™, available at no additional charge with any EBSCO database subscription. These features allow searchers to link instantly from a citation in the result list to the corresponding full text in other EBSCO databases or electronic journals to which the library subscribes, as well as to the library's OPAC, online ILL forms or services, and several document delivery services.

Donald Hawkins, Editor-in-Chief of ISA said, "We are very pleased to welcome EBSCO as a provider of the ISA database. The combination of the important information science data provided in Information Science Abstracts and the powerful searching, linking, reporting and customization features of the EBSCOhost interface is a significant enhancement for end users."
