EBSCO Australia Announces Staff Appointments BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A., March 10, 2006 – EBSCO Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Glaisyer to the newly-created position of head of business development, and the promotion of Academic Sales Manager Richard Steeden to national sales manager. In her new role, Jay will oversee the ongoing development of strategic relationships with key industry and library organisations, ensuring that EBSCO is well-positioned to meet the needs of EBSCO’s library customers now and in the future. Prior to joining EBSCO, Jay served as managing director for the Australian and New Zealand offices of Swets Information Services, where she had held various positions since 1995. “After spending more than 10 years of my career in the library and information profession, I am delighted to join this forward-looking and professional organisation,” she said. “I feel privileged to be part of the EBSCO team and look forward to helping the company grow its strengths and continue making active contributions to the library and information profession as a whole.” As national sales manager, Richard will transition from working exclusively with academic libraries to addressing the electronic and print access and management needs facing all libraries in Australia. He earned his master’s degree in librarianship in 1991 from the University of Sheffield and has more than 15 years’ experience in the information services industry. “Since joining the EBSCO Australia office, I have enjoyed a challenging and successful time serving the needs of our academic clients,” Richard said. “I’m now very much looking forward to bringing further cohesion to our sales efforts to ensure that all of our customers fully benefit from EBSCO’s global strengths.” About EBSCO Information Services Australia Established in 1981, EIS Australia provides print and electronic journal subscription services and research databases to many of the major academic, medical, corporate, government and public institutions in Australia and New Zealand.
