EBSCO Publishing Introduces CINAHL ®with Full Text
Full Text Version of CINAHL
® to be available through EBSCOhost ®

IPSWICH, Mass.June 25, 2005EBSCO Publishing is excited to announce the release of the full text version of the CINAHL ® database. CINAHL ®with Full Text is designed to fulfill the need of nursing students and researchers for easy access to pertinent nursing resources. In addition to the identical indexing and other content provided by the original CINAHL database, users of CINAHL with Full Text will have immediate access to full text articles from hundreds of journals and other resources.

CINAHL with Full Text provides indexing for 1,835 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 1,000,000 records dating back to 1982. Offering complete coverage of English-language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses’ Association, CINAHL with Full Text covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. In addition, this database provides access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters. Searchable cited references for more than 930 journals are included. CINAHL with Full Text provides full text for hundreds of journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials.

As with the original CINAHL database via EBSCOhost, PreCINAHL is included with a subscription to CINAHL with Full Text. PreCINAHL provides current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject indexing) that is available to searchers only while these articles are being indexed. This enables users to gain access to article citations that otherwise would not be available. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added to the CINAHL database and removed from PreCINAHL.
