EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) continues to provide additional databases to meet the discipline-specific needs of universities and other research libraries. The most recent addition to the growing suite of EBSCOhost® databases is The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index. Developed through the partnership between the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) and the Catholic Library Association (CLA), The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index provides a detailed reference resource for in-depth research into Catholicism and related issues. The database includes indexed citations to articles published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith that are authored by Catholics and/or produced by Catholic publishers. This database contains more than 300,000 records covering Roman Catholic publications. With the recent release of The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index, EBSCO now offers a variety of database covering Religious studies. In conjunction with ATLA Religion Database, and its full text counterpart (ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials), as well as the EBSCOhost proprietary full text database, Religion & Philosophy Collection , the company continues to display its interest in covering important subject areas both broadly and deeply. Further still, EBSCO anticipates the eventual release of additional databases in the area of religious studies - Old Testament Abstracts Online and New Testament Abstracts Online.
