EBSCO Named One of the “Companies that Matter Most” by EContent Magazine

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A., November 18, 2005 – EBSCO Information Services is recognized in the fifth annual EContent 100, EContent magazine’s list of the companies that matter most in the digital content industry.

A leader in services for the access and management of electronic journals, databases and packages, as well as a provider of traditional print subscription services, EBSCO has appeared in the EContent 100 annually since the inaugural list was published in December 2001.

“Our goal was to be sure that those who make the list again and again don’t do so out of habit or mindshare, but rather because they continue to innovate and deliver products and services that further the evolution of digital content,” said EContent Editor Michelle Manafy. “In all, this list offers a look at 100 companies in the digital content industry that show how far e-content reaches into our work and our lives and how the tools to make the most of it matter more than ever.”

EBSCO continually enhances and introduces services to help libraries manage key aspects of the e-resource life cycle. Its proven systems and services effectively facilitate timely payment to publishers, assistance with IP address maintenance, non-access issues and more. EBSCO also provides a suite of e-resource access and management tools to simplify the management of electronic collections. Designed to integrate with the library’s existing resources, these services reduce administrative burden while enhancing end user experience.

The list is available in the December 2005 issue of EContent magazine, and may also be viewed online at www.econtentmag.com.
