Global Health has joined the extensive group of life sciences research databases available via EBSCOhost®. Global Health (formerly CAB Health) is the definitive international public health database for academics, researchers, NGOs, policy makers, clinicians, healthcare professionals and students. This online bibliographic database from CABI Publishing covers a diverse range of topics including: food science, healthcare, health education, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, human nutrition, public health, medicinal plants, parasitic diseases, social medicine, veterinary public health and zoonoses, sexual and reproductive health, environmental health and occupational health. Global Health contains more than 900,000 records, 95 percent of which include informative abstracts. The database provides access to abstracts of the world's research literature on human health and communicable diseases from 1973 to present. Coverage includes English and foreign language journals, books, research reports, patents and standards, dissertations, conference proceedings, annual reports, developing country information and other difficult to obtain literature. Up to 40% of the content within Global Health is unique to the database and includes many difficult to obtain serials including Acta Microbiologica Hellenica, Australian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics, Chinese Rural Economy, Ethiopian Journal of Health Development and the Indian Journal of Entomology amongst many others. The database offers global coverage of research from both the developed and developing world, representing over 50 languages translated into English. The superior content in combination with the CAB Thesaurus, a controlled list of subject terms provided by CABI Publishing; and the searching power, advanced linking capabilities and other features of the EBSCOhost interface, create an invaluable resource for researchers in this field. With its inclusion in the growing collection of EBSCO secondary databases, Global Health joins other premier life sciences databases available on EBSCOhost such as AGRICOLA, BasicBIOSIS, Biological Abstracts® and CAB ABSTRACTS.
