EBSCO Publishing has partnered with Marshall Cavendish to create the Marshall Cavendish Wildlife Reference Center™. Available on the EBSCOhost® interface, this new database is designed to help student researchers of all abilities to learn useful, interesting information on wildlife issues, animal profiles and behavior, endangered plants, and the intriguing world of dinosaurs.

The Marshall Cavendish Wildlife Reference Center consists of three encyclopedias:

  • Encyclopedia of Mammals (17 volumes)
  • Endangered Wildlife and Plants of the World (12 volumes)
  • Dinosaurs of the World (11 volumes)

Each multi-volume compilation contains hundreds of informative articles of interest to those with and without scientific backgrounds. The articles are well written and easy to understand, and data sources include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the IUCN Red Lists, and much more. The goal of this database is to be accessible to all levels of student researchers: the concise, direct writing makes it a valuable resource for seasoned researchers who seek to broaden their understanding of a topic and for students who are building their base of knowledge on wildlife, paleontology and endangered plant and animal species.

Marshall Cavendish Wildlife Reference Center is further enhanced by EBSCO Publishing's extensive full text periodical content. Internal editors have added links to thousands of articles that offer enlightened perspectives on wildlife issues and topics. These related articles are updated monthly.
