LinkSource™ is a unique link resolver that offers a highly economical and effective solution to the challenge of integrating multiple electronic collections hosted on a variety of different systems. LinkSource is an OpenURL compliant resolver designed specifically to allow libraries to provide bi-directional, item-level linking to a wide range of online information resources from a single link menu. LinkSource has many linking partnerships in place, and EBSCO is working to establish partnerships with additional vendors to ensure the utmost in linking accuracy and successful research. Currently LinkSource can instantly provide pre-validated links and match citations against available full text from 12,000 journals - approximately 16 million article links. Not only does LinkSource provide the world's largest collection of pre-authorized full text links, it also allows appropriate copy linking for DOI-based links (through CrossRef); links to virtually any Web-based library OPAC; and links to interlibrary loan or document delivery services. In addition, a number of pay-per-view options are available for e-content either directly from the publisher or through EBSCOhost® Electronic Journals Service. This new link server offers many benefits over competing services. LinkSource is cost-effective because there is no need for libraries to purchase, configure or maintain local servers. Instead, LinkSource is hosted at EBSCO Publishing's state-of-the-art computing center. This allows LinkSource to be set up on a trial basis so that interested libraries can test the service before deciding whether it is the right fit. LinkSource will be available for live demonstrations in Booth 1101 at ALA Midwinter and more information is available at the LinkSource Web site at www.linkresolver.com. EBSCO Publishing, EBSCO Subscription Services and EBSCO Book Services form the EBSCO Information Services group. EBSCO is a worldwide leader in providing information access and management solutions through print and electronic journal subscription services, research database development and production, online access to more than 100 databases and thousands of e-journals, and e-commerce book procurement.
