Seven Publishers Add Journal Content to MetaPress

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A. - Seven publishers have signed agreements to add their journal content to MetaPress, the online hosting platform service that is a part of Publisher Promotion & Fulfillment, a division of EBSCO Industries, Inc. These publishers include the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counseling Association, the Institute of Psychoanalysis, Psycke-Logo Press, EPI S.C.P, the Society for Applied Anthropology and IOS Press.

The American Counseling Association is a non-profit, professional and educational organization dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession. Founded in 1952, ACA is the world's largest association exclusively representing professional counselors in various practice settings. Effective April 1, 2005, MetaPress will host ACA titles Journal of Counseling and Development and Counselor Education and Supervision.

The American Mental Health Association was established to enhance the profession of mental health counseling through licensing, advocacy, education and professional development. This national organization represents licensed mental health counselors and state chapters, with consistent standards of education, training, licensing, practice, advocacy and ethics. The AMHCA title Journal of Mental Heath Counseling has been hosted on MetaPress since December 1, 2004.

The International Journal of Psychoanalysis, published by the Institute of Psychoanalysis, is the only psychoanalytic journal regularly publishing extensive contributions by authors throughout the world. Since its 1994 merger with The International Review of Psycho-Analysis, this fully peer-reviewed journal is printed six times a year. It has been hosted on MetaPress since December 1, 2004.

Effective March 1, 2005, MetaPress will also host the Journal of Social Distress and the Homeless, edited by Robert W. Rieber for Psycke-Logo Press, Ltd.

The EPI, S.C.P. journal El Profesional de la Informacion, formerly published by Taylor & Francis, will be hosted on the MetaPress platform April 1, 2005.

The Society for Applied Anthropology works to promote interdisciplinary scientific investigation of the principles guiding human interaction, including the wide application of these principles to practical problems. The Society's journal Human Organization will join MetaPress March 31, 2005.

Current MetaPress customer IOS Press will enhance its existing MetaPress Web platform in conjunction with a three-year renewal of an existing agreement.

"In 2001, MetaPress realized implementation of electronic access to all our journals," said Fred Drissen, production head, IOS Press. "While we had considerable growth in our journal package during the past years, we saw at the same time that MetaPress was growing as well, and was rapidly increasing their services. It has always been a pleasure to work with the very cooperative staff of MetaPress. They are always ready to help and give expert technical support - all the more reason why we are pleased that we recently came to a renewal of our agreement with MetaPress."
