EBSCO Australia Welcomes Richard Steeden: London-based Regional Sales Manager Joins Sydney Office

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., U.S.A. – EBSCO Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Steeden to manager of academic sales.

Since July 2000, Steeden has served EBSCO’s U.K. office as its regional sales manager for the south of England. He joined EBSCO in 1996 as an account services manager.

Steeden earned his Master’s Degree in Librarianship in 1991 from the University of Sheffield. He has almost 15 years’ experience in the information services industry, having worked at the House of Commons Library prior to joining EBSCO.

“We are delighted that Richard will be joining the Australian sales team,” said Peter Smith, general manager of EBSCO’s Australia/New Zealand offices. “His experience in working with academic libraries in the U.K. and his knowledge of the complete range of EIS products and services will be a great asset, particularly in the competitive academic market.”

Richard has worked extensively with academic libraries and consortia and has been heavily involved with the delivery and implementation of EBSCO’s full range of electronic journal management solutions. “I am excited about the challenge of meeting a new set of customers and I look forward to addressing the issues related to online and print journal management that are facing Australian libraries.”
