The Town of Mt Laurel, a traditional neighborhood development located near Highway 280 in Birmingham, Alabama, mixes the amenities of today with the charm of bygone years, while respecting the land on which it is built. Elton B. Stephens Jr. founded the town to emulate the neighborhoods of his childhood.

With spacious homes built to fit every lifestyle – from newlyweds to families to empty-nesters – Mt Laurel’s attention to detail is a cornerstone of the neighborhood. Homes on Mt Laurel’s 535 acres include 21st-century amenities such as underground utilities and high-speed Internet wiring, as well as family-friendly parks, wide sidewalks, a lake and a swimming pool. The Town Center hosts community events, including the Farmers’ Market and Craft Fair, Spring and Harvest Festivals, movies on the lawn, and shrimp boil/fishing tournaments at Spoonwood Lake. In addition, Mt Laurel is home to two schools, a private Montessori and public elementary, and two churches, St John’s Episcopal and Double Oak Community Church.
