Joe Hocutt assumes the role as General Manager of EBSCO Creative Concepts

Joe Hocutt, the newest addition to EBSCO Creative Concepts (ECC), believes in putting customers first. Perhaps it is a combination of this way of thinking and Hocutt’s business background that made him such a worthy candidate to assume the role of general manager.

Having been located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the past 11 years, Hocutt and his family decided to leave the printing business he started and move back to Alabama.

When Hocutt and his family first became interested in returning to Alabama, he thought that EBSCO would be a good fit given his background and experience in the industry. “I think EBSCO is the perfect fit with my corporate background and having run my own business. EBSCO provides you all of the assets and structure of a large corporation, yet they give you autonomy to run your business. They put a lot of faith in people to allow them to do the things they need to do to be successful. Our job is to grow the business and to grow the profitability,” he said.  

As general manager, Hocutt is focusing on building ECC into a prominent name in the industry. “I want us to be a dominant player in this market, and I feel like we can be. Not only within the Alabama market but in the promotional products market as well,” he said.

Much like some of the values EBSCO possesses, Hocutt believes that growth and putting customers first are vital to the interests of ECC. “We share some of the same core values in terms of giving back to the employees and back to the community. I feel like it’s very important for anyone, no matter what endeavor or business you are in, to give back,” he said.
