Crown Products Wins Sixth Supplier Star Award

Crown Products General Manager Bob Bickert holds the prestigious Supplier Star Award of Excellence from the Promotional Products Association International.

Crown Products, EBSCO’s recent acquisition specializing in promotional products, recently won its sixth Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) Supplier Star Award of Excellence. This award honors companies for overall service excellence in areas such as prompt customer response, quality products and imprinting and adherence to shipping dates, among other things. The award was announced at January’s PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.

John Ratliff, Crown vice president of sales and marketing, noted that it takes an entire team to provide the kind of service that makes a company Supplier Star-worthy.

“Every employee, from the janitor to the president, makes a conscious effort every day to give ALL of our customers the ‘Whatever it Takes’ attitude they deserve. We try to treat each customer, big or small, like we would want to be treated.” Ratliff continued, “To receive the Supplier Star Award in our industry is the highest compliment that the distributors (our customers) can give. This award is voted on by our customers, based on customer service and the all-around best company to deal with on a day-to-day basis.” “Winning this award is a great achievement,” said PPAI president and CEO Steve Slagle. “It’s a reflection of a supplier’s performance as seen by its customers as well as a statement about the commitment to overall customer satisfaction.” Criteria for the Supplier Star Awards includes the company being in good standing for a minimum of three years, having excellent customer service, top-quality products and sales aids and on-time delivery. The supplier firm with the most votes in each category is awarded the Supplier Star Award of Excellence. EBSCO acquired Mobile, Ala.-based Crown Products in December 2005. Crown manufactures promotional items, including writing instruments, padfolios, bags and backpacks, beverage ware and golf accessories.
