Commonwealth Productions Wins Five Telly Awards

Two Commonwealth Productions series, two commercial spots and one advertising campaign were recently presented with coveted national Bronze Telly Awards. The two series, Summit’s High Places” and “Rebel’s People Who Fish,” won in the Nature and Wildlife category, and the commercial spots and ad campaign won in the Commercials/Sporting Goods category.

The Telly Award is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.

Commonwealth won awards for the Summit Predator Pod 30-second commercial spot and the Knight & Hale Camo Translator 30-second spot. The winning campaign consisted of Knight & Hale’s 2007 turkey call campaign, including three 30-second spots: the Signature Series Friction Call, the new Yella Hammer Friction Call and the new Mini-Jenny box call. The awards put Commonwealth in the top finalist percentage and in some very good company, as there were more than 13,000 entrants.

“Summit’s High Places” won a Telly its first season on the air. “Our entire group put lots of effort into the first season,” Summit Marketing Manager Will Woller said. “We’re just a bunch of ‘regular’ guys who are blessed to be able to do something we really enjoy for a living. We love going hunting and hope that our enthusiasm shines through on the show.”

 

“Summit’s High Places” is an innovative program featuring the Woller familiy. The Telly award indicates  the new show is on the right track.

“Rebel’s People Who Fish,” with hosts Billy and Bobby Murray, has long been a strong show on the Outdoor Channel. Stunning underwater footage and state-of-the-art animations place “Rebel’s People Who Fish” at the top of the fishing show food chain.

 “Summit’s High Places” is entering its second season on the Outdoor Channel, and “Rebel’s People Who Fish” is in its fifth season In addition to these two fine outdoor programs, Commonwealth Productions produces “Knight & Hale’s Ultimate Hunting” and the new “Knight Rifles: Born To Hunt!” television shows.

Commonwealth Productions has been creating commercials for years; however, it is growing in its ability to represent products in unique ways through graphically enhanced computer-aided design (CAD) files, according to Simpson. “Mix that ability together with compelling products and a compelling script, and it becomes a formula for success,” he said. “We intend to do much more commercial work in the future.”
