PRADCO-Fishing Hooks a New Market – The Upper Midwest

In February, PRADCO-Fishing acquired Lindy-Little Joe, Inc. (LLJ), helping PRADCO Outdoor Brands gain footing in the Midwest market. “Lindy-Little Joe, Inc. is to fishing in the North as Kleenex is to tissues,” said Chris Gulstad, brand manager for PRADCO-Fishing. “This acquisition will enter us into new categories and new territories that will make us an even greater industry leader.”

Located in Brainerd, Minn., LLJ markets a host of niche products under the Lindy®, Little Joe®, Thill, Old Bayside™, Munchies™, M/G™, Beckman™ and Drift Control® brands. Bruce Stanton, general manager of PRADCO-Fishing, explained that the Lindy Company was built upon walleye fishing, ice fishing and musky fishing, and has since expanded into other markets.

The Lindy Tackle Company was formed in 1968 by brothers Al and Ron Lindner and Nick Adams to manufacture and market the Lindy Rig. Lindy revolutionized walleye fishing in the 1960s by “barnstorming” upper Midwest walleye fisheries with demonstrations and seminars while selling thousands of Lindy Rigs.

Today, Lindy is credited with developing many of the lures and methods that dominate the industry. For additional information, visit www.lindylittlejoe.com. LLJ will remain an independent profit center that will come under the PRADCO Outdoor Brands name.

PRADCO-Fishing was founded in 1960 as part of Plastics Research and Development Corporation, a custom injection molder. Since that time, PRACO Fishing has grown to be the world leader in fishing lure manufacturing. Brands include Rebel®, Bomber®, Heddon®, Cotton Cordell®, Arbogast®, Silver Thread®, YUM®, Booyah®, Excalibur® and many more. For more information visit www.lurenet.com.
