Grand View Media Acquires NTP Media, Inc.

Grand View Media Group, a Birmingham, Ala.-based publishing company and subsidiary of EBSCO Industries, Inc., has expanded its business-to-business title offering with the acquisition of NTP Media, Inc. (formerly National Trade Publications) of Latham, N.Y.

NTP is an award-winning, family-owned publisher that produces electronic and print publications for the water treatment, car care, carpet cleaning and facility maintenance industries.

The company was founded 25 years ago by Susan and Humphrey Tyler, who served as the company’s officers and principal stockholders. The Tylers said their decision to sell was based on their plans to retire. “We knew this day would eventually come, but we wanted to be very choosy about the company that acquired NTP,” said the Tylers. “Our key criteria were that the buyer have the resources and publishing experience to take our three publishing platforms to the next level and that our current operations and staff be able to remain in our Latham offices. Grand View is an accomplished publisher in both the business and consumer magazine sector with a highly professional staff, and EBSCO has an excellent reputation for building successful and profitable companies that operate on customer-driven philosophies.”

Grand View Media General Manager Barry Lovette said NTP’s trade publications are a perfect fit for Grand View’s growing business-to-business offering. “NTP Media is a very successful company with industry-leading magazines and a strong Internet focus,” Lovette said. “NTP has been on the leading edge of electronic publishing for years, and this is one of the key reasons that Grand View Media Group approached the Tylers. NTP’s Internet knowledge base will serve to enhance Grand View Media’s electronic efforts.”
