With so much going on at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, here is a quick summary of the sessions, luncheons and all new in-booth presentations that involve EBSCO. We hope you make time to visit us at booth #4411.

Visit the EBSCO booth to register for our daily raffle to win copies of the six SEE-IT finalists. The SEE-IT Award honors outstanding achievement in youth graphic novels. This is the first year of the award which is given by EBSCO and the Graphic Novel Committee of the Children’s Book Council.

Helping Students Overcome the Search Hurdle
6:00 p.m. – IN BOOTH SESSION - Although the school year may be winding down for most colleges and universities, your library strategies for the next academic year are being planned. A Toast to FOLIO at ALA
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – THEORY - The conference may be done for the day, but the night is still young! As a proud partner in the FOLIO project, a community collaboration to create an open source library platform, we are hosting A Toast to FOLIO at ALA. Join us for an evening of drinks, finger foods and mingling, on Friday, June 23rd, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., at Theory in downtown Chicago. Hang out with members of FOLIO’s Special Interest Groups (the SIGs), meet developers working on the project and network with your colleagues. Or, enjoy the atmosphere and have a beer! A short demonstration will include a review of resources for information literacy, classroom and personal success skills and more. 2:30 p.m. – IN BOOTH SESSION - The thrill of winning the Stacks website makeover contest was just the beginning for O’Fallon Public Library. Learn about the challenges the library faced with their old website, how they were addressed with the implementation of the Stacks platform and watch the reveal of O’Fallon’s new library website.

Go Mobile with Flipster Digital Magazines
3:00 p.m. – IN BOOTH SESSION - Learn about Flipster’s new mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Now, patrons can find their library, browse, download, and view Flipster digital magazines right from their mobile device.

Search and Discovery: Linking to Flipster Digital Magazines

The FOLIO Product Council Presents: Meet the FOLIO Community
8:30 a.m. – McCormick Place West (MCP), Room W194b - Come hear about FOLIO from community leaders and Special Interest Group (SIG) members. This session will provide an overview about the FOLIO project and developments. Participants will be able to join members of a FOLIO SIG at a table discussion. The SIG members will discuss the work they are involved in, the development plans for their SIG and explain how to follow, contribute or get involved in the project. Lead by Sharon Wiles-Young, Director of Library Access Services, Lehigh University and Chair, FOLIO Product Council
