Each year, EBSCO surveys a wide range of publishers and reviews historical serials pricing data in order to provide our customers with serials price projections that will assist them in budgeting for the renewal season. The 2018 Serials Price Projections Report projects that the overall effective publisher price increases for academic and academic/medical libraries are expected to be in the range of five to six percent. In the report, EBSCO also provides a market overview, and this year’s report covers topics including library budget challenges, open access, shifts in political climates, assessment and evaluation tools, organized piracy and increases in serials pricing.
