Librarians’ experiences in providing access to digital content

Authentication plays a critical role in the user experience of accessing online content. During this workshop we will discuss the key findings of a 2018 survey undertaken to find out librarians’ experiences providing access to digital content. This paper presents the key findings, from which it is evident that librarians are taking new use cases as a trigger for rethinking the library’s role, while retaining a focus on keeping the user experience as simple and unobtrusive as possible.

The Technological Foundation for Adaptability

Libraries need to be dynamic spaces that adapt and grow due to evolving requirements. Software, infrastructure and platform should not be a concern every time your library needs to expand or adjust. This session will explore providing up-to-date and secure information services from time-tested building blocks in content management, discovery, authentication, and more. Join EBSCO and OpenAthens for lunch and a discussion on discovery, authentication and the FOLIO Library Services Platform.

Complimentary lunch will be provided and there will be time for open discussions, networking and questions.
