Check out The Digital Squeeze, a podcast series featuring conversations with some of today's top digital content creators and distributors for e-books, audiobooks and digital magazines.

Just in time for International Podcast Day 2019, EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) is announcing the launch of The Digital Squeeze, a podcast series featuring conversations with some of today's top digital content creators and distributors for e-books, audiobooks and digital magazines. The program will also feature discussions with librarians and library lovers about the evolution of digital resources in libraries and the movement to a stackless environment.

The podcast series will be hosted by EBSCO’s Books Marketing Manager Julie Twomey, an avid consumer of digital resources, who will guide listeners through programs about the creation and consumption of digital resources and the impact they have on our everyday lives as students, professionals, and parents.

The first episode features two prominent voices from AudioFile Magazine, Francisca Goldsmith, Library and Multi-Media Consultant, and Robin Whitten, Editor & Founder of AudioFile Magazine. Listeners can expect audiobook recommendations from a recently released issue of Audiofile Magazine, available on EBSCO’s digital magazine platform Flipster, as well as an in-depth discussion of the Audies, the annual award given by the American Audio Publishers Association for audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment.

The second episode features an interview with actress and audiobook narrator Julia Whelan that took place at the 2019 American Library Association Annual Conference in Washington DC. Julia explains how she got into audiobook narration and offers a peek behind the curtains of audiobook creation. Plus, listeners will be able to hear a sample of her new audiobook Evvie Drake Starts Over: A Novel, written by NPR podcast host Linda Holmes and available in e-book or audiobook format to libraries through EBSCO eBooks.

Future episodes include a conversation with award-winning author Sharon Draper about her book Blended, and a chat with the Marketing Director for Books on Tape, Jennifer Rubins.
