Learn two ways EBSCO can help you spend less time managing your serials so you can spend more time with patrons.
Serials are a large part of a library’s budget, and your library spends a lot of time providing the information that users want and need. EBSCO can help you spend more time with patrons and less time on serials management.
Reduce the time needed to manage your serials collection – Spending time managing your e-resources means you are not spending time helping your users find what they need. Be sure you have everything you need at your fingertips (from acquisition to renewal) to manage your e-journals and e-package collections. Having information such as title list details, customizable reports, timely alerts, etc. helps simplify and minimize the time needed to manage your e-journal collections and also helps you make informed collection decisions.
Improve content access and user experience – When a library subscribes to e-journals and e-packages via EBSCO and one or more databases on the EBSCOhost® platform, SmartLinks+ can be automatically enabled — a benefit that makes librarians’ jobs easier and ensures that users can access all of the library’s full-text content. As soon as journal subscriptions are activated, SmartLinks to subscription content are automatically enabled in EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) and EBSCOhost databases. There is no work required by the library; and when users are able to find the full-text articles easily within the library’s e-packages and e-journals, they are more likely to make library resources their first choice for research.
