EBSCO Information Services and The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Enter Agreement to Benefit Iraqi Researchers

~ Cooperation Agreement to Provide Researchers with Access to Select EBSCO Databases from Iraqi Academic Journals ~

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates – May 15, 2018 – EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO), an international information services provider, and The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) have signed a cooperation agreement to license and index Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals for inclusion in EBSCO databases and to provide Iraqi researchers access to select EBSCO databases.

This project is described to be one of the most important strategic initiatives adopted by the Research and Development Department of MOHESR in Iraq and under the patronage of its minister and professor, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa.

The cooperation agreement was signed by the Ministry Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Fouad Kasim Mohammad. A representative of EBSCO Information Services in Beirut, Lebanon, is working closely with the Iraqi Academic Journals to exchange selected databases with those provided by EBSCO.

The signing ceremony took place at the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut, and in attendance were the Iraqi Ambassador, Dr. Ali Abbas Al Ameri, the Cultural Counselor at the Embassy, Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, along with the Iraqi delegation including the head of the governmental contract department, Dr. Ameer Talib Hadi, and one of IASJ Iraqi Academic Scientific Journal administrators, Dr. Yousif Khalaf Yousif.

This agreement will benefit Iraqi researchers at universities and research centers, as well as contribute to the advancement of the Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals website to achieve a better digital educational society.
