Does BookChat replace library staff?

No, our goal is to enhance the experience readers have with your library. BookChat is there for a little extra support when you need it most.

When is BookChat available?

BookChat hours are currently Monday through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET.

What happens after hours?

After hours, users will have the option to submit questions via email, which will be responded to the following business day by our BookChat team.

What kinds of recommendations will BookChat provide?

Our BookChat Specialists have years of readers’ advisory and library experience, across a wide range of genres and ages. They excel in using NoveList to provide suggestions for a wide variety of patron needs.

Will BookChat specialists have access to my library’s catalog?

Our BookChat Specialists will not have live access to your library’s catalog but will recommend following up via your library’s catalog or with your staff.

Is BookChat available in NoveList K-8 Plus?

Currently, BookChat is only available in NoveList Plus.
