ATLA Catholic Periodical and Literature Index (ATLA CPLI)

This database provides indexing of periodicals, essay collections, church documents, papal documents and electronic resources expressly addressing the practice and intellectual tradition of Roman Catholicism. Content within its scope is selected for indexing based on enduring scholarly merit. By the spring of 2018, ATLA Catholic Periodical and Literature Index will be included within ATLA RDB instead of being offered as a stand-alone product.

Comprehensive Indexing

Updated monthly, ATLA Catholic Periodical and Literature Index (ATLA CPLI) contains indexing from 1981 to the present, including index records produced by the Catholic Library Association (CLA) through November 2011. The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) acquired CPLI from CLA in September 2011 and has since concentrated efforts to further develop the scholarly content of the index. This includes increased coverage of international titles, enhanced coverage of multi-author essay collections, extensive harmonization and enrichment of records across the entire database and additional electronic-only journals. Content includes:

  • More than 700,000 records
  • Indexing from 1981 to the present
  • International titles
  • Multi-author essay collections
