Sudan: Increasing Hunger.

Abstract

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), one million farming households in Sudan received seeds in 2023, allowing them to grow food for up to 19 million people. This support was provided during the ongoing conflict and high seed prices. The FAO also warned of increasing animal disease outbreaks, which could result in significant livestock losses. Additionally, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported that thousands of children in Chad, who had fled the conflict in Sudan, were suffering from severe malnutrition and appealed for emergency food aid.
