Abstract

The Risk Management Education Partnership Program, offered by the Agriculture Department's Risk Management Agency, is accepting applications to provide risk management training to U.S. agricultural producers. The program aims to assist producers in managing various risks related to production, marketing, legal, financial, and human factors. The deadline for applications is March 4, 2024, and up to $3 million in funds will be awarded to 20 recipients, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $500,000. Eligible applicants include colleges, universities, for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations, government entities, and independent school districts. Priority will be given to educating producers of crops not currently insured under federal crop insurance, specialty crops, and underserved commodities. The program also aims to provide collaborative partnerships for crop insurance education and risk management training. The education activities offered through the program aim to provide training opportunities for farmers and ranchers, including those who are traditionally underserved, to understand and utilize risk management tools effectively.
