Abstract

The Transfarmation Project aims to convert industrial animal agriculture into sustainable plant-focused farms by repurposing agricultural buildings into greenhouses and other plant-growing systems. The project provides funding, training, and technical assistance to farmers looking to transition away from factory farming. By working with 14 farmers since 2019, the project has successfully helped seven farmers transition entirely into plant or mushroom production, with some starting off with a slow transition process. The organization's goal is to build biodiversity and heal the earth by promoting sustainable farming practices. [Extracted from the article]
