Abstract
B War exacerbates an already disastrous food security situation. b On August 2nd, the United Nations ( B UN b ) sounded the alarm of impending famine in Sudan, where months of war have hit food supplies and pushed nearly four million people to flee the fighting. "Over 20.3m people, representing more than 42% of the population in the country, are experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity", the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation ( B FAO b ) announced. The UN food agency expressed concern at the projections for the period from October 2023 to February 2024 - with around 15m people likely to face a food crisis. [Extracted from the article]
