Abstract
The article focuses on Agilent Technologies Inc.'s announcement of the Mito-rOCR Assay Kit, a new tool designed to facilitate mitochondrial function analysis for researchers of varying expertise. The kit measures relative oxygen consumption rate (rOCR) in live cells, providing sensitive detection of mitochondrial activity linked to cellular energy production and disease pathology. It is compatible with various fluorescence plate readers and multimode imagers, such as the BioTek Cytation series, and includes the cloud-based Mito-rOCR Analysis Module for streamlined data processing. The assay is reversible and allows for downstream analyses without interfering with cellular processes, aiming to broaden access to mitochondrial research.
