Abstract
This article focuses on the use of wearable device technology to monitor physiological changes during sexual encounters in males diagnosed with psychogenic erectile dysfunction. In a prospective study, participants wore a Fitbit Versa 3 for six weeks while logging details of their sexual activity, including type, timing, orgasm achievement, and satisfaction. Analysis of heart rate variability revealed consistent physiological patterns—excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution phases—similar to those observed in individuals without sexual dysfunction, and these patterns were comparable between partnered intercourse and masturbation. The findings demonstrate the feasibility of using wearable devices for objective, non-invasive monitoring of sexual physiology in this patient population, with potential applications in both research and clinical settings.
