Abstract
This article focuses on the successful treatment of neuroproliferative vestibulodynia (NPV) in menopausal patients who also have genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM). It reports on two menopausal women with longstanding NPV symptoms who were first treated for GSM using hormone replacement therapies to improve vaginal tissue health, followed by complete vestibulectomy surgery with vaginal advancement flap reconstruction. Postoperative outcomes showed significant symptom improvement and confirmed NPV diagnosis through immunohistochemical analysis. The study highlights the importance of managing GSM prior to surgical intervention to optimize treatment success in this patient population.
