Abstract

This article focuses on evaluating the test–retest reliability of the EyeStatTM Blinkcns device, which measures the blink reflex, in healthy high school athletes. The study involved 48 athletes who completed two EyeStatTM assessments 15 minutes apart during pre-season, with reliability analyzed across 10 blink reflex parameters using correlation coefficients and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs). Results showed moderate to strong reliability (correlations 0.45–0.82; ICCs 0.46–0.87) and no significant effects of biological sex, sleep status, or prior concussion history on the measurements. These findings suggest that the EyeStatTM device may serve as a reliable baseline tool for assessing blink reflex changes related to sport-related concussion in young athletes.
