Abstract

The article focuses on a case of nail unit amyloidoma, a rare condition characterized by localized amyloid deposition in the nail area, distinct from systemic amyloidosis. A 67-year-old female presented with a painful, enlarging subungual mass, which was clinically concerning for malignancy. Histopathological examination revealed keratin-derived amyloid and numerous onycholemmal cysts, leading to a diagnosis of keratin-derived nail unit amyloidoma. The case highlights the unusual presentation and histopathological features of this condition, emphasizing the need for awareness among clinicians regarding nail findings in patients with amyloidosis.
