Abstract

The article focuses on research conducted at the University of Dschang in Cameroon regarding the addictive behavior induced by the opioid Tramadol. The study involved administering Tramadol to Wistar rats of both sexes to evaluate gender differences in addiction response. Findings indicated that both male and female rats exhibited dependency and addictive behaviors, but pubescent female rats showed a greater susceptibility to Tramadol-induced addiction compared to males. The research highlighted significant biochemical changes, including increased dopamine and malondialdehyde levels, and decreased GABA in both sexes. [Extracted from the article]
