Abstract
This article focuses on recent research from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, examining archaeological evidence of violent behavior in prehistoric contexts spanning the Paleolithic to Neolithic periods. The study explores how material remains are interpreted to understand the causes and social environments of past violence, incorporating insights from the archaeology of emotions to investigate potential emotional aspects linked to aggression. Key topics include early interpersonal violence among hominins, intergroup conflicts, violence against animals, and destruction of objects, analyzed cross-culturally and through multiple disciplinary perspectives. The research was funded by the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation and has undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
