Abstract

This article from All About History highlights two significant events in history. The first event occurred on May 6, 1950, when the well-preserved body of the Tollund Man was discovered in Denmark. Initially mistaken for a recent murder victim, further examination revealed that the body dated back to the 5th century BCE. It is believed that the Tollund Man was a victim of human sacrifice. The second event took place on April 4, 1949, when the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded. In response to concerns about the Soviet Union's intentions after World War II, several countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, formed NATO to ensure collective security and mutual defense. Currently, NATO has 32 member states, with Sweden being the most recent addition. [Extracted from the article]
