Abstract
The article focuses on a collaborative archaeological project between Kilmartin Museum and Archaeology Scotland investigating prehistoric rock art at Carnasserie Farm in Kilmartin Glen, Scotland. Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic Environment Scotland, and landowner Rosemary Neagle, the project examines Neolithic and Bronze Age carvings, particularly cup and ring motifs, dating back 4,000 to 5,000 years. The research includes recording, conservation, excavation, and scientific analysis to explore the relationship between the rock art, ancient routeways, and the surrounding landscape. Community engagement is a key component, with public open days, school visits, and local group involvement enhancing understanding of Scotland’s prehistoric cultural heritage.
