Abstract
Stonehenge, Britain's most famous archaeological monument, was built over 4,500 years ago during the Neolithic period. The true architects of Stonehenge were revealed through radiocarbon dating in the 1960s. The monument's purpose is still a mystery, but it is believed to have had multiple uses and meanings. Stonehenge's alignment with the Sun during solstices and its connection to the heavens and Earth suggest a preoccupation with celestial events. The stones were transported from different locations, with the bluestones coming from the Preseli Hills in Wales. Stonehenge remains a sacred place and continues to attract visitors today.
