Abstract
The article profiles Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who burst onto the architectural scene in the 1980s with his austere concrete designs, but has since become a starchitect with major commissions around the world. The article discusses his early influences, his design philosophy, and his recent work, including the Bourse de Commerce in Paris,France, and explores the question of whether architectural drawings can be considered art.
