Abstract

Glasgow, Scotland is home to a significant amount of ancient Greek and ancient Greece-inspired art and architecture. One notable attraction is the Burrell Collection, which reopened in 2022 after a £68 million refurbishment. The collection, donated by Sir William and Lady Constance Burrell, includes over 9,000 objects spanning 6,000 years of world history, with a focus on ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Persian, and Chinese artifacts. Another architectural gem is Holmwood House, designed by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson in a distinctive Graeco-Egyptian style. Glasgow is filled with classical artifacts and neoclassical architecture, making it a must-visit destination for those interested in the classical world. [Extracted from the article]
