Abstract

The article focuses on Pakistan’s government efforts to address the energy crisis through the implementation of the revised Energy Conservation Building Code-2023 (ECBC-2023). The Ministry of Energy has urged provincial authorities to incorporate energy-efficient building designs, particularly targeting the building sector’s high energy consumption from cooling systems, to reduce overall power use. The ECBC-2023 mandates energy conservation measures in building regulations and public infrastructure, aligning with national directives for sustainable development and energy security. Additionally, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) plan to hold the Balochistan Summit 2025 to promote investment and industrialization in the province, emphasizing the need for government support and improved law and order to attract investors.
