Abstract

This article discusses the intersectional identities of Cynthia Erivo, an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winning actress known for her roles in Broadway musicals and films. Erivo is set to star as Elphaba in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical Wicked. The article explores Erivo's connection to Black queer icons like James Baldwin and Lorraine Hansberry, as well as her experiences as a Black queer woman in the entertainment industry.
