Abstract

The article focuses on the upcoming exhibition "Raphael: Sublime Poetry" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, running from March 29 to June 28. This comprehensive survey of the High Renaissance artist Raphael will showcase nearly 240 works, including over 30 paintings and around 170 drawings, alongside pieces by his assistants and contemporaries. Notable loans for the exhibition include "The Alba Madonna" and several significant portraits, such as "Portrait of a Lady with a Unicorn" and "La Muta." Curated by Carmen C. Bambach, this exhibition marks the first major Raphael survey in the United States and completes a trilogy of exhibitions on Renaissance masters that began with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
