Abstract

The article focuses on the Polish hussars, a formidable cavalry unit formed in 1503 composed of nobility from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Their distinctive wings and aggressive tactics allowed them to achieve victories against various enemies, including the Ottomans and Swedes, but their decline began in the 17th century due to changing circumstances and a shift away from military focus.
